I enjoy providing personalized academic tutoring & instruction to students. I am a certified teacher with 16 years experience, a Master's Degree, post graduate training and thousands of hours of specialized training.
I recognize that all students learn in unique ways. As such, my approach to teaching is one that adapts to a student's needs & preferences. I believe that students must feel comfortable in order to learn and retain information so I strive to create an environment conducive to learning. I encourage students to ask questions and use examples to illustrate concepts.
I have worked with students of all ages & abilities for more than 16 years. Specifically, I have worked as a literary specialist for those learning and struggling to read including those with diagnoses of learning disabilities. I have worked with thousands of students helping them become proficient readers.
I have also taught English, ELA, Spanish and history for students in grades 3,6,7,9,10,11,12, and university classes during my years of teaching at public and private institutions.
I am a native Spanish speaker. I have lived in Puerto Rico, Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica and Chile.
I am familiar with dialects and varied accents as well as idiomatic Spanish.
Currently, I divide my time between suburban Boston where I work as full time tutor and educational consultant. I also teach classes at the university level for teachers. I spend my summers in Vermont.
I enjoy learning new things and meeting new people, reading voraciously, traveling, drinking coffee, baking, and playing with my small rescue dog named Annie.
I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your academic goals.
