I am a graduate of The University of Mount Union. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement and minor in Sociology. I graduated with a Master's in Education Administration from Youngstown State University. I'm also certified by the State of Ohio as a PK-3 Intervention Specialist (special education teacher).
Since graduation, I have taught for 13+ years in various elementary positions. I've also tutored children in Reading and Math skills. I have 6+ years experience creating lessons and teaching online in the virtual education environment.
I'm very passionate about Education. I am invested in student success across all content areas. However, I have a special interest in Reading skills. I believe that students who can build solid independent Reading skills have a strong foundation in Education. This promotes success in all other areas of the curriculum.
I love creating interventions based on each student's unique needs. Lessons and interventions can be based on previous success, research based data, or motivation and interest. I believe that goal setting and progress monitoring is integral to the effectiveness of the individualized learning process for each student.

In my spare time, I read as much as I can. I also enjoy running and various daily exercise. Both of these hobbies enrich my teaching experiences because they keep my spirit lifted, positive and inspired.
