I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Japanese and Linguistics from the University of Vermont, and also completed a Master's degree in Intercultural Communication at the University of Sheffield in the UK. While studying for my Bachelor's degree, I lived for one year in Japan. I studied for six months in Osaka, and six months in Tokyo. While I was there I found out how much I enjoyed interacting with people from different countries and cultures, and also realized I have a passion for learning and teaching languages. I gained experience in tutoring ESL to university students, and I now currently tutor ESL for grades K-12 as a CELTA certified instructor. After my time in Japan, I also worked as a Japanese Language Tutor at Yale University, tutoring high school students in Beginner to Intermediate levels of Japanese. Education and language learning help empower students as they move forward in life, and I hope to improve students' lives through education.
