A twenty-year veteran teacher, I currently teach 11th-grade English and college-level writing. I have experience teaching grades 6-12, including literature, grammar, language, composition, creative writing, and public speaking. I patiently break down content in a way that is palatable and geared toward students' multiple intelligences. In unique and creative ways, I encourage students to read critically and write precisely, and with confidence! I model reading, writing, and public speaking, and provide non-examples for further understanding. My students have shown growth in their aptitudes and benefit greatly from my contagious enthusiasm and my ability to relate content to the students' everyday lives. I value independent practice in order to maintain consistency and promote diligent work habits, and I have an uncanny ability to alleviate students' apprehension by using innovating learning tools, meeting students where they are.

I have extensive tutoring and test prep experience. I have assisted many students in preparing for the SAT and ACT exams. I am skilled at reviewing and refining college essays and guiding students through the essay process.
