After majoring in English with a focus in Writing and a minor in Business Administration at Belmont University, I hopped across the pond and earned a Master of Letters in Romantic and Victorian Literature from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

My tutoring experience is vast as I have worked with refugees as they sought to improve reading, writing, and interview skills, K-6 students as they persevered through phonics and reading comprehension, and high school, undergraduate, and graduate students across disciplines through the brainstorming, drafting, and revising stages of the writing process.

While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English (Literature and Writing) and Public Speaking. In my experience helping students with standardized tests, we always have the most fun and success when partnering together on the Critical Reading and Writing portions of exams. I have also worked communications consultant for several Fortune 500 companies, so yes, I can tell you that the skills we develop in English class really do matter in "the real world."


A native Texan and an adopted New Yorker, I'm also an Enneagram Three, a Sagittarius, and, according to the book Archetypes: Who Are You? by Caroline Myss, an Intellectual, Creative, Caregiver. All this to say that while I am a pretty tenacious gal, my creative approach whether I'm leading in the classroom, the conference room, or the rehearsal room is to prioritize curiosity and compassion above all else. I believe that the more questions we ask, the more we strive to dig deeper than we previously thought to go, and the more we commit to listening with empathy, the better and more lasting our solutions, strategies, and stories will be.
