I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in international studies, focusing on global health and Japanese language. In the past I have taught kids ages 4-17 Karate, including kids with disabilities and kids from a special program called Kids Kicking Cancer. In my Junior year of college I lived in Tokyo for a year going to Waseda University, and even held a job teaching karate to Japanese students there as well. While I tutor several subjects, including math and english, I am most passionate about tutoring in Japanese. My language journey in Japanese was really rewarding and having achieved fluency in just about 3 years, I have many tips on how best to learn and retain Japanese. I'll give you supplemental resources outside of your classes or personals studies like pop culture, ways you can speak to real native speakers, and fun challenges to make your learning experience fun and memorable. Outside of tutoring, I like to play sports (rugby, basketball) and play the piano :)
Undergraduate Degree: University of Michigan-Ann Arbor - Bachelor in Arts, International and Comparative Education
I love to learn and play the piano, especially jazz, and some classical. I play lots of sports: rugby in college, and basketball just for fun. I run quite a bit (trying to work towards a marathon one day) I like the ocean. Recently I've been trying to learn how to surf but have only gotten pummeled by the winter waves so far.
