About Me

I received my Bachelor's of Science degree from Saint Vincent College in 2018, and am currently a third year student training to be a veterinarian at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. I have ample experience in STEM subjects like biochemistry, biology, and mathematics, but am also very passionate about writing, reading, and more! As evidenced by my history of Liberal Arts education, I believe having an understanding and appreciation across a wide variety of fields, not only STEM, is crucial to developing a holistic worldview. In college I tutored a variety of subjects in biology. I have informal experience tutoring colleagues and friends in biochemistry, mathematics, and more. My favorite subjects to work on are biology, preparing for standardized tests, academic essay writing, and college application essay writing. I was raised in the Montessori method of learning, which highlights independence, creativity, collaboration, and working with others to collectively develop our strengths. The method consisted of classrooms with a range of student ages, to encourage older students to teach the younger students. So, I've always been comfortable with helping others learn, and finding individualized ways to work together to achieve a goal. My teaching style involves a lot of examples, repetition for comprehension, and advice from personal experience. I'm happy to work with any age group.
