Hi, I'm Jack! I'm currently working towards my Bachelor's in Civil Engineering at Arizona State University. In 2019, I graduated Valedictorian of Boulder Creek High School, and finished senior year having passed 8 AP tests, including AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Physics 1, and AP Chemistry. I love all things math related, have excellent study habits, and enjoy being able to help others understand new concepts in easy-to-understand ways. There's nothing more rewarding than being able to see a new concept 'click'.
Throughout my high school and college careers, I've always been "the tutor" to those close to me. Whether it's family, friends, or classmates, I have always been the one to go to for help in anything regarding math or science. This has generally taken the format of a one-on-one lesson, whether in person or over Zoom. Through this, I have been able to help teach elementary, high school, and college students alike. I specialize in Calculus, Algebra, Trigonometry, Chemistry, and Physics. My approach to tutoring is fostering independent learning. Tutoring should never be just giving a student the answer to a problem. It's about encouraging critical thinking: asking questions about the problem designed to allow the student to draw their own conclusions. This process both builds the student's confidence in their knowledge of the subject and sets them up for future learning when a tutor may not always be around.
I am very easy to reach and will always respond ASAP. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
