Hello! I am a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin where I studied nutrition and sociology, and conducted immunology and cancer research. I'm currently in the process of applying to medical school and am taking a gap year to work and spend time with my family. Science and math have always been my favorite subjects. I am particularly interested in chemistry, biology, and algebra because of how interconnected these topics are with one another. I have successfully taken many advanced biology and chemistry courses including genetics, human physiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and more; I have also excelled in multiple areas of mathematics such as algebra, pre-calculus, trigonometry, and calculus.
Teaching and tutoring others has always been a passion of mine; throughout my undergraduate career, I helped many of my peers understand course material by hosting group study sessions or meeting with them individually. I love helping others explore different learning styles and breaking down concepts in ways that make them easier to understand. Between maintaining straight A's, scoring in the 91st percentile in the Chem/Phys portion of my MCAT, and nurturing my scientific curiosities through my research, I have cultivated the skills needed to teach others in a way that is tailored to them.
Testing and studying are individual to each of us - what works for one person may not work for another - so I can work with you to create a plan that is personalized to your strengths and weaknesses. In addition, I am more than happy to help you understand your course material, assist with test taking strategies, and share my own tips, materials, and methods that helped me throughout my academic career. Regardless of which stage you are at in your studies, I'd love to help you achieve your goal.
