Striving to reduce language barriers in education. Growing-up as a twin, I spent the early part of my life communicating in a self-made language that has since been forgotten. After years of speech therapy, I can form the sounds of the English language proficiently. Later in my education, I began to learn Spanish, American Sign Language, and Portuguese. In a previous role, I would converse with my Hispanic colleagues in Spanish to expand my vocabulary. Prior to the pandemic, I attended Deaf Night Out in Columbus, OH, to participate in the deaf community. Lastly, I visited Sao Paulo, Brazil, where my conversational Portuguese improved.
I am not a language tutor. I never plan to be. I want to create an environment for clients of different language abilities to feel accepted as I guided them to better understanding in the subjects of mathematics and chemistry.
During my undergraduate studies, I tutored for 2.5 years in the math and chemistry departments.

I enjoy going to parks no matter the size! Small parks tend to have beautiful flower gardens while large parks offer better hiking experiences. Videogames have become a more prominent leisure activity in the recent months.
