When tutoring a student, my goal is to empower them to not only understand one particular topic, but to utilize the logic and resources surrounding that topic when problem-solving future questions. My main focus is tutoring high school math, science, and English, as well as test preparation, because I believe these subjects and test-taking strategies lay an important foundation for a student's future studies in any subject. As a undergraduate student myself I am very familiar with the preparation that goes into taking standardized tests and completing pre-college curriculum, and I try to teach these subject in ways that are applicable throughout a student's education down the road.
I am currently working on my B.A. in Public Health from Vanderbilt University with minors in Spanish Language and Violin Performance. Over the past four years I have worked as a math & science tutor, SAT tutor, beginner violin teacher, and paper grader. Outside of academics I enjoy playing violin, running, and spending time in nature.
