I am an experienced youth leader with 10+ years experience in helping families thrive through a positive developmental approach to education and direct support. My education at Arizona State University had a heavy focus in both research and practical application. Upon receiving my BA in psychology, I chose to delay applications to graduate schools and continue working in the field of community mental health where I assisted high needs children with their mental health, educational, and home stabilization needs.

I will be applying to Graduate Schools for a Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2021 and hope to specialize in Mental Health and Gerontology.

My favorite subjects to tutor are writing, science, and reading comprehension. I love helping folks find their voice and strengthen the way they communicate with the world at large and I have a particular affinity for the way science and art intersect.

I believe that learning is a multi-modal process involving a successful application of various teaching styles, in conjunction with other positive social and environmental factors that lead to long term retention and overall success.

I currently captain an underdog roller derby team, and play for one of the highest ranked leagues in the nation. Mentoring is a large part of my role as an all star player and I spend Saturdays with our junior league helping them learn skills and develop a high level of sportsmanship in the process.

Whether it is coaching youth in education, banked track roller derby, emotional stabilization, or prepping them for the expectations of a court room- I have experience assisting young people in breaking through barriers on their way to accomplishing their goals.
I believe that all people are capable of thriving with the right attention and advocacy.
