After three years of tutoring students from kindergarten through high school and an adult in math, I have used and developed a teaching approach that values the student as a whole person, not just their test scores.
I am patient, methodical, and understanding, and I work well with students who are willing to make an effort toward improving.
I can tutor in the following subjects:
- Math (elementary, middle-school, pre-algebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, and introductory trigonometry and precalculus)
- German (introductory and intermediate)
- Test prep (including SAT, ACT, and GRE)
- Biology (high-school and introductory, college-level)
- Chemistry (high-school and introductory, college-level inorganic)
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, along with minors in Chemistry, German Language and Literature, and Environmental Studies. Currently, I am studying toward a Master of Information degree with specialization in Library and Information Science.
Professionally, I have worked for six years in biology labs (include five in genetics research), in addition to math tutoring for about three years.
In my free time, I enjoy playing chess, doing crossword puzzles, bird-watching, and experiencing nature (leisurely hiking, sight-seeing, etc.).
Please contact me with any questions, and I look forward to working with you!
