I was a bilingual elementary teacher for 20 years, where I taught grades kindergarten through 5th grade. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I specialized in working with struggling readers and teaching English as a second language in grades kinder through second grade. In my experience, I found it best to instruct in a variety of ways to help each child engage in their learning and meet them at their level. I have a passion for helping struggling children by providing effective, consistent instruction in literacy so they can succeed.
I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I also received a Master in Reading from Regis University in Denver, CO.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, gardening, and traveling to new places in the US.
