Hi! I'm Leah! I've been a teacher for 11 years now and have taught in both California and Connecticut. I have experience with 1st through 6th grade. I went to school at Chapman University a small private school in Southern California. I received my Bachelor's degree in Political Science but decided the law wasn't for me and went back and got my teaching credential and Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction. I also spent 5 years teaching at the college level through both DeVry University and Westwood College. Most of the classes I taught were for beginning students or computer classes.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and his 2 kids. They are 10 and 12 years old. My husband is currently in the military and this is the 2nd state I have lived in. I like working out by running or going to the gym to lift weights. I also like reading (when I'm not teaching).
I'm very straight forward when it comes to my teaching style. I tend to find out what works best for my students and tailor my lessons to best fit their needs. I enjoy finding out what they like to do so I can fit that into my lessons.
