As far as languages are concerned, I have always been intrigued by the abundance of cultures in our world. A wealth of literature is just waiting to be discovered by the next generation to divine wisdom from those who have gone before and to be challenged into new adventures by expanded imagination. For a second language, I chose to learn French. Initially inspired by my mother, who taught me the basics, I continued my academic pursuit throughout high school. Later, I found ways to practice and increase my skills with new friends in the college years and beyond. During my tenure abroad, I was able to translate my superior officer's comments to French sponsors and speak on behalf of our musical ensembles.
