Dr. Christen Johnson MD, MPH, is a resident family medicine physician at The Ohio State University. She was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She attended high school locally and was involved in softball, track, and community service while working at Fashion Bug and taking college classes. She later attended Wright State University, where she graduated cum laude with an honors BA in biological sciences and a certificate in African American and womens gender studies. Christen earned a doctorate of medicine and a master's of public health from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She has been honored with more than 20 scholarships and awards, including selection as a National Health Service Corps Scholar and recognition on both Medscape.com and in the NBC Black 28 under 28.
Christen has a special interest in education. Her 10 years of experience includes teaching homeschooled students, instructing college courses, college access advising, and tutoring a variety of subjects from elementary school to Division I college athletes. With 20+ local, regional, and national research presentations and 10+ publications in peer-reviewed journals, textbooks, and grants alongside five competitive research and leadership fellowships, Christen is known for her positive attitude and communicating tough topics with ease. She makes learning fun.
Christen's favorite topics to tutor include science, english, reading, "Adulting", and college access topics as outlined here. In her free time, Christen enjoys movies, painting, and leisurely running with her miniature poodle.
