I am a recent graduate with a B.S. in Biology (minors in Anthropology and Environmental Science) from Roger Williams University. I have over seven years of tutoring experience.
The first time I tutored was in high school. During my junior and senior years I helped out a small group of younger students in math and German. I really enjoyed building relationships with my students.
I was also a tutor throughout all four years of college. My freshman and sophomore years I was a math tutor, helping out primarily with statistics. I would tutor students individually, attend extra classes to have up-to-date notes, and hold exam review sessions.
Once I had more classes under my belt, I became a tutor for my college's science center during my junior and senior years. I was qualified to tutor a wide variety of subjects, anywhere from chemistry to oceanography. I was the only tutor for biostatistics, a notorious class at my university.
I am a big fan of the Socratic method. I believe all students have the ability to come up with the answers, they just need to know where to look. I hope, through my methods, I help students learn skills to improve their academics in the long-term.
