About Me

As a tutor, I want to assist students through the process of learning in a partnership and ongoing relationship. I hope to not just be end-goal oriented, but to really work on the core issues along the way to make future problems more manageable. I have a Master of Divinity degree from Boston University School of Theology. In this degree, I focused primarily on ethics from a variety of societal viewpoints. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, both from North Park University in Chicago. I will be beginning a Master of Business Administration at Boston University Questrom School of Business very soon. I tutor primarily writing, reading, and a variety of other subjects as needed. As a tutor, I am laid back but ask my students to challenge themselves. I want learning to become part of everyday life, not an obligation. Tutoring writing, in particular, allows me to really see the whole process of thinking for a student. From the formulation of an idea, to finding a voice, to going through the details of an argument, writing offers insight into the key learning practices of a student. I love to be a part of this process, guiding and learning alongside. When Im not tutoring, I enjoy gardening, composting, and cooking, as well as learning about the intricacies of society.
