Michelle
I have a number of degrees and certification in different areas. I have two Associate of Science Degrees; one in General Studies and one in Business Administration from Thomas Nelson Community College. I have two Bachelors of Science degrees; one in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Bloomsburg University and one in Business Administration from ECPI. I have a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Bloomsburg University as well as an Education Specialist Degree in Special Education Leadership from Regent University. I have 3 certifications: Assistive Technology from East Carolina University, Autism from Penn State, and Vocational Evaluation from East Carolina University. In the past, I have tutored students in reading and math. I have been a Special Education Teacher for 13 years. Before returning to school, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant as well. I have a vast array of experience with different individuals. My favorite subject to tutor is math because there are many manipulatives and different ways to teach math concepts. It is not a one and done subject. Setting high expectations for students is important for me. By doing so, the students learn more and are motivated to learn more. Outside of the classroom, I love to ride four wheelers with my husband. In addition, we have five dogs: two Boston Terriers and three Pitt Bulls. When we are not riding ATVs or playing with out dogs, we regularly attend church and are active in many areas.
