I first became interested in helping others when I switched my major at Northern Illinois University to concentrate on family and individual development. Soon after, I began my job as a corp member, working with students in the high school, specifically with English skills. This experience made me realize how much I enjoyed working with students in multiple capacities; as a mentor and tutor mainly. I have worked with students who are freshman in high school, but were reading at a fifth grade level. My passion is helping students achieve success through education. My experiences showed me what many public schools lacked when it comes to aiding youth. I see myself as a resource available for students who may struggle academically.
