I am a native-born Chinese who has become a US citizen. Following undergraduate study in Beijing, I taught for four years in Chinese and in English at a technical college in China. I came to the USA for graduate study. My bachelor's degree and graduate degree are in engineering fields.

I have 10 years of teaching experience in classroom settings and private tutoring. In addition to the experience gained in China, I have taught Chinese to the children of Chinese academics at Yale University and employees of Yale University Press, and tutored high school students in mathematics and physics.

On my view, a good teacher not only provides high quality instruction, but also cultivate students' curiosity and ability to be active individual learners.

I enjoy helping others to learn my native language and key aspects of my native culture, and increasing communication between peoples of different background. The world could do with more of that!
