My mission as a tutor is to help students grow using methods based on their needs and their style of learning. Every student is different, and as such, they should receive attention based on those differences. My job is to help them fully discover their style of learning and use it to their advantage.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that each student has a different way of learning and retaining information, and that part of a teacher's job is understanding the methods that work for each student. Therefore, my philosophy is to tailor my approach to teaching based on the method of learning best suited to each student.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a first session with a student, I would start by ascertaining what the student feels they are having trouble understanding in that particular subject. Then, I would work through some practice problems relevant to those aspects of the subject to determine what the student is not understanding specific to those types of problems, and why the student is having difficulty learning to solve them.
