Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Education is the key to success and healthy habits of mind. Equipped with equitable access to differentiated learning strategies, expert instruction, personalization, and instructor empathy, learners can successfully achieve their educational goals.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I'd inquire about the student's interests and coursework to get to know strengths and weakness in their learning process and what might help me reach them better as a tutor.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Students need confidence to be able to make managed risks knowing they can have the help they need to grow. In time, this confidence will lead to independent learning.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Reminding the student of their goals and finding ways to make the information more manageable and engaging.
