I'm a teacher based in Chicago, with 5+ years of experience and a diverse range of skills. I've taught special and regular education, served as an IB essay advisor, and have instructed students in a variety of subjects; including History, English, and Chemistry. I love working with students one-on-one and I love the process of getting to know a student's individual learning style. My philosophy is that students learn best when they can connect the subject they're learning about with real-world experiences and applications. I believe in getting to know my students in order to understand their goals, strengths, needs, and learning styles.
When I'm not teaching, I love listening to records (I was a radio DJ in college!), reading books and articles, cooking all kinds of food, and hanging out on the internet.
