About Me

I believe firmly that to be a great teacher, you have to be a great student. When I first began tutoring middle school students through my church while I was in high school, I learned that learning works best when it is a two-way street. I love when my students give me feedback about where they are, as this helps inform me on the goals to work toward. I am a native Tennessean from a town in northwest Tennessee called Troy. I graduated from Lipscomb University with a double major in Communications and Spanish in 2013. I have lived in Honduras and Paraguay and made many trips to Mexico, and I am fluent in Spanish and teaching both the language and culture. I have worked in several middle and high schools throughout Nashville tutoring in Spanish, ESL, English and math. Additionally, I have worked for both a newspaper and radio station, and I am a huge fan of both news and proper grammar and writing. I believe that when you are able to write well and articulately, you will be best understood. I am a huge history buff, and I love American history, Latin American history, and world history in general. In my free time, I may be found on a kayak or bicycle seeing and experiencing new things.
