I am strong believer that any student can and will be successful if they work hard and be persistence and there are times that one might need help understanding a concept and this is where I believe I can help them to understand concepts better and be able to apply them in real life.
What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe everyone can learn/master the subject, though with the help of a good teacher/tutor.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Basically introduce each other and set the stage for how we plan to work to make the best of our time to the student’s advantage.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By helping him to build his self confidence and guiding him to start experimenting/trying things out by himself.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
Motivation is a big issue with today's distraction. My thought is, if a student is able to work through the problems successfully and takes an interest in the subject that will keep him going. So my goal would be to keep his interests in the subject by making it an interesting learning experience for the student.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
I would walk him through the different scenarios till he can comprehend the concepts.
