I am a certified teacher with a strong interest in fostering lifelong scientific literacy. I attained my Bachelor of Arts in General Studies with a concentration in Plant Science and Forest Ecology. After working for a few years, I realized I was passionate about teaching and returned to college. I earned a Master’s of Teaching at Sacred Heart and am currently certified to teach biology, general science, and earth science in Connecticut. Post graduation, I taught middle school math and science and have spent some time being a full time mom. I am available to tutor a variety of subjects, and most enjoy teaching biology, ecology, and the scientific method. I think the best way to learn is to find a way to make the material relatable and part of the bigger picture. I certainly don’t mind relating subjects with a fun or gross bit of information or an analogy using fictional references. Personally, this made teaching and learning about anatomy and digestion all the more interesting. During my free time, I enjoy the outdoors, plant identification, cooking, yoga, reading, and gardening.
