I began tutoring about four years ago and graduated from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) last year with a major in marketing and a minor in Spanish. Since graduating, I've worked as a private tutor full time and have discovered a passion for teaching across a wide range of different subjects.
As a 23 year old and a recent college grad, I can relate to my students on a personal basis. I took the same classes they are taking several years ago, so I can explain the material in a way that is practical and simple to follow. I teach many different subjects, including (but not limited to) Spanish, English, Math, SAT prep, and most high school classes through the AP level. My favorite subject to teach is Spanish, because I myself started taking it in high school and ended up fluent after a year studying abroad in Madrid, Spain! I like to tell my students this because it shows how school can lead to exciting paths in the future. Beyond academics, I skateboard, play the guitar, and enjoy all the good things life has to offer. I believe teaching is a team effort, so I check with students periodically in each session to make sure they are following along. What works for one student might not work for another, so I'm always trying out new techniques that match the unique strengths of each individual student. I look forward to helping you reach your goals, whether it's writing an essay, practicing Spanish or learning calculus!
