I am a recent graduate of Amherst College. I graduated Cum Laude with a double major in Statistics and Psychology. I am a member of both the national science research honor society (Sigma Xi) and the national statistics honor society (Mu Sigma Rho). I have been employed by Varsity Tutors for three years. I also worked as a Teaching Assistant, Grader, and Tutor in the Statistics Department at Amherst College for three semesters. I am particularly passionate about test preparation and math education.

In a typical first session, I would meet the student and see what they wanted to work on and how they learn best. Then I would make a specific plan with the student to cover the material they wanted to focus on.

What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?

Depending on the focus on the session, I might use a notebook, colored writing instruments, a calculator, and a ruler.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I think it is important to be patient and understanding.
