I am a veteran teacher with 12 years of experience in both high school and middle school classroom settings, as well as in private piano lessons. I hold a B.A. in Piano and an M.Ed in Teaching & Learning, and am a certified Artist Instructor in CT. Currently I tutor in English, essay writing, grammar, and literature.

My teaching philosophy centers on helping students discover solutions and providing the guidance they need to arrive at answers themselves, thus achieving a sense of accomplishment and self-sufficiency. I believe that encouragement is much more effective than negativity. Fostering student engagement, building rapport, and stimulating intellectual development are all vital components of the art of teaching.

During free time, I love to read, be outdoors, practice jujitsu, and spend time with my cat, Zoe.
