I have a BA in History/Secondary Education and I currently working towards my Master's Degree. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, plus 5 years of private tutoring. I have tutored all ages and grades, as well as, preparation for entrance exams and grade level exams. I love History and ELA. I love to learn it, as well as, teach it. I am constantly reading and trying to learn something new. I try to tailor all of my tutoring sessions to each of my students. I spend time getting to know each student, so that we can work in a way that will help him or her get to where he or she wants to be.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Everyone has the ability to learn - the right teacher will find a way.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I will get to the know the student and give a test to see where the student is.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

Try something else.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I will give them the tools that they need. I will guide them each session to build up the their skills.
