I am a licensed special education teacher in the state of Illinois. This is my 3rd year working as a special education teacher. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as a behavior therapist throughout Chicagoland. I have worked with students as young as 3 years old up to 19 years old. I became a teacher after I realized how much I enjoyed teaching people new skills and seeing them make improvements. My philosophy to teaching is that all students can learn and that it is my job to figure out how they learn best and help them advocate for themselves.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is that everyone can learn, and it is the job of their teachers, parents, and community to find out how they learn best and help them advocate for themselves.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In the first session with a student, I like to get to know the student. I like to assess his/her strengths, struggles, and goals. I also like the student to get to know me as well.
