About Me

I have a BA from CUNY Hunter College where my major was English and minor was Psychology. My favorite subjects have always been reading and writing. After pursing a career in the children's publishing industry I decided I wanted a more hands on approach. Now I work at a special needs high school as a paraprofessional. This job has allowed me to interact with a range of students, including those with Autism, ADD, moderate OCD, as well as students who are physically challenged. In the near future I am looking to return to school to earn my MA in Elementary Education. In the past I have also been a literacy tutor for elementary school students. I loved seeing my students' progress and enthusiasm about reading. My love of language also extends to foreign language. I studied Spanish for four years and have a future goal of learning sign language too!
