I am a graduate of Northern Kentucky University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Education with a minor in Japanese Language and Culture, and I have recently returned to NKU to pursue a Master of Arts in ESL Instruction through their Teacher as Leader program. Since graduation I have begun my career as a teacher at a local charter school where I work as a Title I Reading instructor and ESL instructor with grades K-12. While I tutor in a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about Literature, Writing (including editing and drafting), and Japanese. In my experience working with children of all ages, we do our best to have fun even when studying the tough material by approaching learning through varied activities and methods—I strive to help my students think outside of the box when approaching problems. I believe that education is a necessity for current and future generations and that it leads to immeasurable opportunities that can take them anywhere they wish to go in life—and this is a belief I strive to pass on to my students. My spare time is spent reading high fantasy literature, sewing and crafting, writing poetry, playing with my two cats, or simply relaxing at home with a good video game or two.
