I'm a recent graduate of the University of Rochester where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Linguistics. I discovered my love of teaching after working as a Teaching Assistant at university, and I have been working either full or part time as a teacher/tutor ever since. I have the qualifications and experience to teach both Spanish language and ESL (I am a BridgeTEFL certified ESL instructor), and I have worked with children, teens, and adults as a private school teacher, language institute instructor, and private tutor. My ten plus years of Spanish education have given me a deep understanding of the language, making me well-equipped to teach it. However, I also enjoy and have experience teaching ESL. In both subjects I have taught writing, reading comprehension, test prep, vocabulary, grammar and conversation. I took the AP Spanish test and the SAT Subject test in Spanish and feel well-prepared to tutor for these specific exams. One of the most difficult things about learning a language is being afraid to make mistakes, and for that reason, I work hard to create a relaxed learning environment. I want my students to feel comfortable and to show them that learning a language is much more fun than it is intimidating. Outside of tutoring, I love photography, writing, cooking and baking.
