I am a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Health Science. Since graduating I have continued my studies in the areas of clinical medicine and pharmacy. I have extensive experience tutoring students in college level Chemistry and Math at the University of Florida; high school students in Algebra through the “IOTA Youth Alliance;” and private clients in the South Florida area. Although I enjoy the vast subject areas contained in Science and Mathematics, my passion lies in tutoring Algebra and General Chemistry specifically. These subjects are the necessary building blocks for more advanced topics. I believe that a strong understanding and foundation in Algebra and General Chemistry will make future academic endeavors easier and more enjoyable for students. My teaching philosophy is to foster critical thinking by allowing my students’ voice to be heard more than my own. I have found that allowing students to verbalize how they are solving problems increases their self-confidence and understanding of the material. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing poetry, listening to music, and any athletic activity.
