I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology, German minor, in 2008 and a PhD in microbiology in 2014. I am currently performing postdoctoral research involving public health related water microbiology, specializing in Legionnaires’ disease. Education is a passion of mine. I hope to one day become a professor and am actively involved in a number of science education outreach programs, most focused on K-12 STEM exposure. In addition to working as an Arizona State University Writing Center tutor for three years during my undergrad, I have provided private tutoring in a variety of subjects over the last 12 years. This, combined with experience from instructing four university courses during my graduate studies, has allowed me to develop what I like to believe is an effective teaching style, focused on addressing outcomes both short-term (passing a test) and long-term (learning fundamental concepts relevant to future courses). When I’m not busy with work, I enjoy exercising, mostly running and weight-lifting, and playing with my dog, Deuce.
