I am a graduate of The University of Michigan and am currently a candidate for a Master in Public Policy degree from Rutgers University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a focus on International Security and Norms, English Language and Literature, and Spanish. Since graduation, I got married, moved from my hometown in Michigan to a new home in New Jersey, and started tutoring and nannying students full-time while also attending graduate school full-time. I primarily work with children with learning difficulties and health issues that affect their energy and performance level in relation to their academics. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Writing. In my experience helping struggling students prepare for Standardized Tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) prepping for the Critical Reading and Writing portions of the exams. In working with the older students, I have helped them completely transform their college essays into true stories that have helped gain them admission into their first-choice schools. Conversely, with my younger students with learning disabilities, I have helped them remarkably improve their grades at competitive private schools in Manhattan while reigniting that spark which allows them to enjoy learning once again. I am a firm proponent of education believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students while also showing them that going back to the basics and having fun while doing homework and studying for tests is absolutely possible and necessary in order to succeed in school. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing competitive volleyball, cooking healthy meals and creating new recipes in my kitchen and spending time with my nieces.
