I am a graduate of Texas State University. I received my Master of Arts in Literature with a focus on philosophy and cinema after completing my thesis on zombies! Since graduation, I have worked in academic publishing at the University of Texas at Austin and as an Adjunct Professor of English at Austin Community College. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Composition. In my experience helping struggling students, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements) when using pop culture as a comparative text for core concepts. Taking student interest into consideration when approaching a subject never fails to spark curiosity and engagement. I am a firm proponent of the idea that learning and laughter go hand in hand, believing fun to be absolutely necessary for long-term memory retention. In my spare time, I enjoy books, movies, television, gaming, yoga, and kitties!
