I am a science teacher and informal educator, and I earned my Bachelor's in Geological Sciences at the University of Michigan in May 2014. As a senior in college, I considered graduate school in geology, but I was inspired to bring science into young peoples' lives and I instead completed a rigorous three-semester program in secondary science education. For this program, I worked as a teaching intern in three different secondary science classrooms, and I learned to use the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) tutoring method with small groups of students. In addition to working with middle and high school students, I regularly tutored fellow undergraduates in Geology, Astronomy, and Oceanography classes. I tutor a variety of subjects, including standardized test preparation. I am most passionate about earth science and astronomy, but I find all tutoring work exciting. It is a privilege to work with students and to promote their growth as learners.
