I am currently a student at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I am working towards a degree in Biochemistry and Mathematics. I currently have my mathematics minor and am starting a research position in a biochemistry lab. For the past three years, I have been involved with the tutoring of my peers in many areas such as general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and a variety of math courses. During this time I have been guided by the philosophy that learning is best accomplished in an atmosphere where knowledge is an open dialogue. Through my experience tutoring here at Duquesne, I have found that the most productive, thought provoking, and genuinely enjoyable times studying have been those where an open dialogue or conversation has led to the systematic understanding and solving of a problem. With this in mind, the thing I stress the most in my teaching is that being open to different perspectives and expressing your thoughts is key in opening the door to a deeper understanding in any area of study or life.
I am always up for a good conversation, especially about T.V shows (Buffy the Vampire Slayer anyone!?) and music ( I am a huge Indie music fan). In my free time I love to play guitar, go out to eat, ski, and hang out with my friends.
