About Me

I received my bachelor's degree from Furman University, where I double majored in History and Religion with a concentration in Latin American Studies. I also have a masters degree from Emory University, and I am currently Pursuing a PhD in Religious Studies at SMU. My ultimate career goal is to become a college professor, but I love working with students of all levels. I tutor Spanish, Religious Studies, SAT and GRE writing and verbal, as well as essay writing and editing. I can help with college admissions essays as well. I especially enjoy helping students with their writing. I find that the process of learning to write a clear and well-argued essay can help students become better communicators and gain confidence sharing their opinions both inside and outside of the classroom. These are skills they can use for the rest of their lives. Since I too once struggled with finding the confidence to communicate my thoughts both aloud and in writing, I am passionate about nurturing confidence in the students I work with. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy reading, cooking, playing the viola, and relaxing with friends.
