As a native Spanish speaker, I was often required to use my knowledge of the Spanish culture and language during my time as an Officer in the U.S. Military. I received my Bachelor's of Science in Foreign Area Studies, with a minor in Spanish, at the U.S. Air Force Academy. I spent over a decade traveling the globe and performing various translation and interpretation services for engagements with Latin American military leaders.

In 2009, I became a certified TESL Instructor. Since then, I have taught English in classroom and one-on-one settings, to students of all ages. I have learned that relating all lessons to real-life scenarios adds relevance and motivates students. I have a passion for TESL and teaching Spanish because, while we build our vocabularies, we also build bridges of understanding and appreciation between people of different backgrounds.
