I am a graduate of Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Art degree in honors English. Prior to deciding on an English major, I was a physics major and took several courses in math and physics. After graduation, I worked at Gale, Inc., a major publisher of reference books, writing and editing for their 'Twentieth-Century Literary Criticism' series. I've taught college courses in Shakespeare, modern American authors, and freshman composition. I'm also a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. I love to teach, and I've taught informally for several years in a number of different subjects, but I am most passionate about English literature and composition. I am especially adept at matching my teaching style to my students' learning styles, and can adjust to various ages and skill levels. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, live theater, playing chess, playing guitar, and spending time with my wife and children.
