About Me

I recently received my Bachelor's Degree from Miami Dade College. I have a Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Student Education. I plan to start working on my Masters' Degree, but right now I am looking into different programs. I have about three years of tutoring experience, and four years of experience working with children. I have been a paraprofessional in a variety of schools working with children from Pre-K to 5th grade. I am available to tutor the following subjects Arithmetic, FCAT 2.0, SSAT- Elementary Level, STAAR, Grammar and Mechanics, Phonics, Reading, Writing, as well as Study Skills and Organization. My teaching style is very hands on. I believe that students learn best when they are involved and responsible for their education. Traditional methods do not always work. I incorporate fun and active activities to help the children grasp the concept. Outside of an academic setting I enjoy reading all types of books, outdoor activities, fishing, and boating. I overall have a very easy going personality and I am a hard worker. I am here to help my student succeed and become the best possible student they can be, and that will always be my one goal.
