I am in my fourth year at Columbia University and will be graduating in May. I will be receiving my Bachelor of Arts in Biology as well as Dance with a Pre-Medical concentration. Throughout college, I have spent my time conducting research on spermatogenesis using the model organism Drosophila melanogaster, otherwise known as the fruit fly. In addition, I have volunteered at local nursing homes, as well as serving as a Resident Adviser for freshman dorms at Columbia. I have also worked extensively with students through an internship at Choate Rosemary Hall working at their Young Artists Summer Program, as well as assisting teaching dance classes in various public schools in NYC with the Columbia Ballet Collaborative. While I enjoy tutoring many subjects, I am most passionate about Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology. As I plan to attend medical school, I truly love imparting my knowledge and passion for these topics to others. Similarly, I enjoy tutoring for the MCAT as I understand how stressful an experience it can be and feel that any guidance I can provide in making the experience less stressful is invaluable. In tutoring, I believe that every student learns differently and pinpointing the most effective learning strategies as well as personal strengths and weaknesses is key to developing a successful individualized plan. While standardized tests such as the MCAT can be extraordinarily taxing, I believe there are certain ways to alleviate anxiety associated with it and approach the test feeling calm, prepared, and confident. Besides tutoring, dancing is a huge aspect of my life that brings it richness and joy. In addition, I enjoy skiing, reading, and cooking.
