I am currently a full-time instructor for Grand Canyon University in the College of Education. Prior to joining GCU, I taught high school and middle school English in three districts across the Phoenix area over an 18 year span. While teaching in high school, I had the opportunity to teach writing classes at night at University of Phoenix. I really enjoy helping students with writing. I have a simple way of breaking down the writing process into basic chunks that help students understand and apply these ideas. I've worked with student ranging in ages from 5 to 60 years old in my years of teaching.
Personally, my life seems to revolve around sports. I have three teenage daughters who play school and club volleyball, and my wife coaches volleyball. I played football in college and coached at the college level before I began teaching high school. There, I was a varsity football and baseball coach for many, many years. I see a lot of connection between athletics and academics, and I work very hard to inspire all of my students to instill a little competitive spirit in them, so they will work hard to always be their best.
