I am originally from the Bahamas, but I have resided in the Fort Lauderdale area for the past 15 years. I am tutor with over 10+ years of teaching experience. I have taught Math and Sciences in both The Bahamas and in schools in Broward County, Florida. I graduated from Florida International University with a BS in Biology, and while teaching in Florida I maintained certification to teach Biology and Math from grade levels 6-12 as well as middle schools sciences.
I have 2 sons both of whom are in college, the second one I home-schooled. As a mother and a teacher I was and still now am able to challenge my sons daily with the curiosity needed to ensure that they pursue their own quest to satisfy the thirst for knowledge. This is the wish that I have for all students and in life we are all students, the innate desire to pursue knowledge and seek out understanding. I love Math and Science and look forward to giving my students that same perspective that they can learn to understand if not love them as well. The desire to strive for knowledge and not just the goal of passing subject tests.
I am an avid traveler and love traveling, which is one of the reasons I ended up in Florida from The Bahamas. I have lived in the state of New Jersey as well have visited most of the states on the east coast and some of the Midwest, the furthest west has been Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV. I have also visited Mexico, Panama, most of the Caribbean, England, France, Spain and North Africa. I hope to expand on that list and acquire a few more stamps in my passport before it expires.
