About Me

I graduated from the University of Virginia with Distinction with BA's in English (Poetry Writing concentration) and French. Since graduating, I lived in St. Petersburg, Russia where I taught at the American Montessori International School and worked at The St. Petersburg Times, a weekly newspaper. I started tutoring before college, and I have since tutored students ages three-adult in French, SAT Reading, Writing, and Verbal, Essay Writing, ESL, Study Skills, and more. I am also an avid, competitive ballroom dancer. I began teaching dance at my ballet studio in high school before going on to teach my college team, as well as wedding dances to private couples. I am also a freelance writer and am working on learning a fourth language, Spanish. In my observation, languages and writing skills are poorly taught in many schools, leaving students frustrated and unprepared for further learning. The improvement I see in my students, however, is immensely rewarding. With a little guidance, everyone has the ability not only to boost their test scores, but also to set themselves up for a lifetime of confident communicating.
